Case Study #2:

NON-TRADITIONAL CATHODIC PROTECTION SYSTEM USING A THERMO-ELECTRIC GENERATOR

Non-traditional solution

This system was installed in West Central Alberta to provide cathodic protection current to twin pipelines that crossed under the North Saskatchewan River.

No commercial power was available in the area so SOUTHWEST CORROSION CONTROL utilized a Thermo-Electric Generator to provide the necessary cathodic protection current. The average current output from this unit was 2 amps DC.
